Federico Araujo
Torres, Plaz & Araujo

A lawyer graduated from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, class of 1974. He later conducted Post-Graduate studies in Tax Law at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (1975-1978).

He has focused his practice on the areas of tax, corporate, commercial, civil, administrative, mining, banking and financial law, and on the areas of oil, insurance, joint ventures, acquisitions, mergers, foreign investment regulation and capital markets. He has been professor in the Chair of "Partnership Taxation" in the Post-Graduate courses at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello. He has been a professor and coordinator of the Post-Graduate program in Financial Law of the same Univeristy, a professor in the chair of "Municipal Taxation" in Post-Graduate Courses at Universidad Central de Venezuela and has been guest professor at the Institute for Superior Studies in Administration (IESA). He taught Tax Planning, as part of the Master's program in Administration and Management for Lawyers, in 1985, 1986 and 1987.

He is a former President of the Tax Committee of the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VenAmCham). He is currently a member of the Venezuelan Tax-Law Association and of the International Fiscal Association. He is a founding partner of Torres, Plaz & Araujo.
