Cristian Rosso Alba

Dr. Rosso Alba heads the International Tax, Transfer Pricing and Tax Controversy department of the firm. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Buenos Aires Law School, and holds a Master Degree in taxation from the University of Buenos Aires, School of Economics (highest grade point average in the history of the program). He holds an LLM degree from Harvard University (1994) and a Harvard Certificate in International Taxation (International Tax Program -ITP- 1994); having received the award to the best thesis by Harvard University for his work on “Financial Services under the Value-Added Tax: The Argentine Experience”.  This thesis was also nominated for the "Laylin Prize" at Harvard Law School. 

His areas of concentration are -in addition to domestic and international tax planning- restructuring, transfer pricing and international business transactions.  The tax practice of the firm has been highlighted Tier 1 by the International Tax Review, in consecutive years(2008, 2009, etc); Tier 1 Chambers & Partners 2010. The firm has an exclusive Transfer Pricing tax boutique, responsible of handling the most significant cases in the fields of exports of commodities, automobile industry, industrial and pharmaceutical industries.
In the United States he was a foreign legal associate at the Chicago office of Mayer, Brown & Platt (1994-1995). He was a partner at Hope, Duggan & Silva in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he founded and developed the Tax-Law area until 2004, when he founded the current firm, together with other former partners.
Mr. Rosso Alba is the author of over 80 articles, publications and conference papers related to his areas of concentration, including contributions to the International Financial Law Review, the Infraestructure Yearbook of 1995 (Privatization International, London), the International Value-Added Tax Monitor (International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, Amsterdam), Derecho Fiscal, Impuestos, among others.  Dr. Rosso Alba is currently the Argentine Correspondent for Tax Notes International and members of the Tax Advisory Board for the tax publications of the World Trade Executive Inc.

In 2006 Mr. Rosso Alba has been appointed as leading advisor in the areas of Transfer Pricing and Mergers & Acquisitions, in the survey conducted by the International Tax Review.
